Dodge promised that the 2005 Dodge Dakota would be, in Dodge's words, “bigger, bolder, and tougher,” and they made good with the completely redesigned 2005 Dakota.
Dodge also promised that the 2005 Dakota would be the best in class in terms of horsepower, torque, and towering capabilities. That, too, is an easy promise to fulfill, as it is the only truck in its class to come with the option of a V-8 engine.
The V-6 comes standard, but buyers have two optional choices for the engine: the 2005 Dakota can be fitted with one of two V-8 engine. The most powerful of the two is a two hundred sixty horse power, V-8 engine with three hundred and ten pounds per feet of torque.
The 2005 Dodge Dakota comes in a Club Cab model and a Quad Cab model, and can be either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive in one of three trim levels – ST, SLT, and Laramie.
